AMG India is proud to announce its 3 brand new ‘exclusive’ live acts for 2011, cutting across genres and age groups.
Last month, we signed on India’s original ‘fusion-rockstar’ REMO FERNANDES for Live performances. This hi-energy act ‘Remo & the Microwave Papadums’ is easily the most interactive and entertaining Live act in the country. With mega Bollywood & Pop hits like Pyaar Ka Signal, Humma, Yeh Hai Jalwa, Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha, O Meri Munni, Bombay City, Flute Song, Huyya Ho, etc., Remo is the most sought after Live performer even today! See video below to know why …
We have also recently signed on India’s most potential ‘hybrid rock’ music export CASSINI’s DIVISION from Kolkata. Been around since 2001, performing it’s distinctive brand of original music, blending Alternative Rock with Hip-hop music set to emotionally charged lyrics and Anthemic melodies, the band is today the most respected band in the Rock circuit. Cassini’s was the Viewers Choice Award winner at the Pan Asia TV competition SUTASI in 2008 and also runners-up at Ch[V] LAUNCH PAD 3 in 2009. The band’s debut album, produced by Simon Henderson from UK, who has worked with Depeche Mode and Alan Parsons Project, has been recently released by Saregama HMV, with an animated video for the same currently doing the round of VH1. Explore more on the band in the video below …
Starting the New Year, we are also exclusive managing India’s finest drummer, the wiz percussionist SIVAMANI’s brand new Fusion band The SIVAMANI TRIO, also featuring young pianist Stephen Devassy, who not only matches Siva completely in terms of stage histrionics and presence but also leaves everyone stunned with his lightning speed keyboard playing. The trio is completed by child prodigy Sitar player Ravi Chary, who is highly acclaimed by critics and connoisseurs alike for his excellent command over laya and layakari. This trio is known for it’s explosive live act! Watch this video to believe it ….
On Nov 1st, ’10, India’s premiere Artiste Management Co. AMG India completed 10 years of successful operations.
The 10th year has seen many a 1st’s for AMG. It’s had it’s 1st ever Concert in the US of A [an all-star World Fusion band Ethnic Call comprising US based International and Indian musicians] for an audience comprising the big daddies of various Hollywood Studios.
It’s also witnessed the progression of AMG India as a Music label, with the release of legendary World Fusion band MYNTA’s album ‘Meetings in India’.
The year also saw AMG getting it’s 1st ever Endorsement deal for it’s artistes – with the signing of Neha Bhasin as the brand ambassador of leading German brand Sennheiser.
On the occassion of it’s 10th anniversary, AMG has also signed on the legendary Padma Shri awardee, India’s one and only fusion-rockstar Remo Fernandes for Live performances! Remo truly has been a pioneer – being the 1st ever performer to also compose and write his own songs, the 1st ever mainstream musician to be signed by 3 major brands including Pepsi (‘Yehi Hai Right Choice Baby’), Raymonds and Shure (‘with Remo, you are SHURE’) for celebrity endorsement!
Remo, who is most famous for his film hits ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’, ‘Humma’, ‘Pyar Toh Hona Hi Tha’, ‘Hayya Ho’ & ‘Aflatoon’, had a massive hit with his recent Bollywood track ‘Pyar Ka Signal’ (film Bhagham Bhag). However, his true fans have loved him for his topical non-film hits such as ‘Pack That Smack’, ‘ Bombay City’, ‘Politicans Don’t know How to Rock-n-Roll’, ‘O Meri Munni’ and the most famous ‘Flute Kick’ song.
Remo is the only Indian musician to have the distinction of performing with international legends such as Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, Queen and Eurythmics!
Having now been signed on by AMG, Remo not only looks forward to lot many Local & International performances & artistic collaborations but also venturing into composing music of Bollywood films.
As AMG India completes its 10th successful year as India’s premiere Artiste Management Company, it now also takes up the avatar of a Music Label for its key, independent artistes. This, ofcourse, is a very familiar territory for their founder Mr. Manish Savant, who has launched successful albums by artistes such as Shankar Mahadevan, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Abida Perveen, Jagjit Singh, Kamaal Khan, etc. during his days with HMV Saregama, prior to him setting up AMG India.
The company’s 1st release will be the latest Music Album, MEETINGS IN INDIA, of it’s legendary International World Fusion band MYNTA on Oct 13, ’10. The band, comprising leading musicians from Sweden, USA & Cuba besides India’s tabla maestro Fazal Qureshi, is being flown down to India especially for a Concert Tour to promote the new album.
The CDs of the album will be distributed by AMG themselves through Live performance Venues where the band will be performing, through mail order on it’s website http://www.amgindia.in and also through key Music outlets throughout the country.
For the digital distribution of the album through internet download and mobile Callertunes as well as DTH, AMG India has tied up exclusively with Hungama Digital Media Ent. Pvt. Ltd. The album would be released through a Live Webcast of the band’s album launch Concert to a Worldwide audience on Oct 13, ’10 and could be viewed for free through Hungama’s website ArtistAloud.com.
AMG India sees this only as an extension of their Artiste Management business, and not as being a competition to the Major Music Companies. They see this as only being another avenue for the Independent Artistes to reach out their music to their fans, at a time when Music Companies are not very open to supporting non-film music.
Amongst it’s future release plans (Jan-Feb ’11) is an album by US based Indian female vocalist Satya, who is equally at ease singing Carnatic Classical as well as Jazz and Brazilian. Her album Seven Blue Seas has her singing in Hindi, Portuguese and English – three languages that broadly represent the history of her native Mumbai.
With the growth of Social Media networking platforms and the rise of the Mobile and Internet media as well as Live Performance Venues, these are definitely good times for the Independent Musician & AMG India is committed to fully supporting them in this process ….

The Swedish half of Mynta consists of the elegant guitarist Max Åhman, who composes much of Mynta’s music. Percussionist Sebastian Printz contributes many musical colors through a variety of instruments, such as the African djembe, Arabian darbouka, South American cajon, etc. Last but not least among Mynta’s six members is bassist Christian Paulin, who has been Mynta’s leader from its beginning in 1979.
Meetings in India was recorded in three separate locations, partly in a studio in Stockholm, partly in a studio in Southern Sweden during a free day on their 2009 Swedish tour, and partly in a studio in Mumbai during Mynta’s 2008 India tour.
